Bird Walks at Sherburne History Center

MN Master Naturalist to Host Bird Walks at Sherburne History Center

Join other outdoor enthusiasts on the second and fourth Thursdays, April through June, for Bird Walks at the Sherburne History Center!

Hosted by Minnesota Master Naturalist, Dean Kleinhans, this program will focus on birding techniques and the importance of habitat and phenology. Use of binoculars, spotting scopes, cameras and cell phone apps will be covered. Kleinhans has over two decades experience leading and helping with bird surveys and tours in this area, primarily at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge.

Please dress appropriately for a two-hour hike along mostly gravel and dirt/grass trails. The pace of the hike will be matched to the group and trails are not strenuous.

The hikes will take place the second and fourth Thursday mornings from 9 to 11 a.m. starting April 11 and ending June 27, with the option to extend if interest provides.

The Sherburne History Center is located at 10775 27th Ave SE in Becker.

We strive to connect our community to the county’s history through free, family-fun activities, educational programs, engaging exhibits, and public access to an extensive research library and local, cultural artifacts.
